We booked the Eco Tour to Costa Rica through GWA and it was amazing. Jannik was our travel coordinator/sales agent and he was very responsive and helpful. The... read more trip was packed with really fun activities.
Some things to note:
The Whitewater Rafting was a blast.
The "Lost Canyon Adventure" (rappel down huge waterfalls, jump into pools, zip down guided rappels, downclimb the canyon walls and river boulders, and hike up through the rainforest) was awesome but exhausting! Our guides were funny and encouraging and just great!
The guided Arenal Volcano Hike was disappointing as it was very rushed. We barely had time to take in the views.
The Hot Springs were fabulous after a long arduous day!
The Horseback Riding in the Cloud Forest was fun with beautiful views but was really challenging (rocky, muddy both uphill and downhill). Definitely not for beginners. The hotel (Cala Lodge) in Monteverde was our favorite of all the lodging. Wish we could have stayed there longer.
The Canopy Tour was one of the many highlights of the trip. It was so much fun and again we had great guides.
Samara Beach was a great way to end the trip. The water was beautiful. Kayaking and Snorkling with Allen was great and relaxing.
All the included meals were great.
All the transfers went smoothly.
I recommend dining at Casa Esmeralda in Samara. Excellent food.
Suggestion for GWA: Offer hotels with restaurants on site (if not in a town where restaurants are easily accessible). The amount of daily activity meant that on some days we would have like to have eaten at the hotel restaurant for dinner instead of having to go out.

We did the Costa Rican Caribbean Adventure 7 day tour. Overall it was very enjoyable, well organized, relaxed and a good amount of time and number of places to visit.... read more Green World Adventures gave us a WhatsApp number to text with any questions or concerns about the itinerary. We were picked up from the airport by private transfer and taken to our hotel. The hotels in San Jose were standard, the location's weren't great, particularly one being very far from the city, so it was difficult to actually see any of San Jose. The transfers all arrived on or before scheduled time which was very efficient, and didn't have to stop to pick up too many other guests. The transfers had AC and some also had free WiFi. The boat journey and lodge in Tortuguero were great, we were staying right in the rainforest with so much nature and wildlife on our doorstep. The lodge didn't have AC and it was very hot and humid, but that was a compromise for staying in such a cool location. The food was basic Central American cuisine, buffet style and we were well fed and all included in the cost. The National Park was amazing and we got a great bilingual boat tour. Next was the stay in Puerto Viejo. The transfer was smooth and the hotel was fantastic. Rooms had AC and were peaceful (other than a few bug intruders). It had a great pool and great buffet breakfast included, and was right next to the beautiful beach. The tour of Cahuita National Park was excellent- thought it was quite a long walk in the midday sun so beware of overheating. The itinerary mentioned snorkling, though that isnt actually included in the tour, but they did take us back in a boat and show us some of the coral reefs. Lunch was also included with that. We wished we could have spent longer in Puerto Viejo as it was so beautiful and relaxing. Things we would have improved- less time in San Jose and more time on the Caribbean coast, there is not a lot to do in San Jose, the hotels weren't great and were very far from the city, with very bad traffic congestion, and torrential rain, yet we had almost two days to spend there. You may as well book a flight that gets in late and leaves early to spend less time in San Jose.
